Affordable Housing Update:

Deputy Mayor Voorhees and Councilman Coxe recently spoke with the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (HMFA) regarding Medford’s affordable housing deed restrictions.

HMFA concurred with the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) that Medford’s existing deed restrictions cannot be extended at this time for use toward Round 4 obligations, as none of the current deeds expire before 2037.

However, we did receive helpful clarification for future planning. Rental deed restrictions may be extended up to two years prior to the start of the next round, which will be beneficial as we prepare for Round 5.

We will continue working closely with our partners to ensure Medford remains compliant while planning ahead responsibly.
