A number of yard signs referencing legislation under consideration by the Township Council were placed throughout the Township last night.
The Township Council respects residents rights for free expression, and as such Sign Ordinance 2013-1 permits the posting of such signs on private property, with the property owner’s consent.
The signs that do not comply with the aforementioned Sign Ordinance are being removed by Township staff. Specifically, the Ordinance states under Section I: General Provisions (1) “No sign other than street, traffic or similar official signs shall be erected within or project over the right-of-way of any public street, sidewalk, or public promenade (property), except as permitted by the governing body, or as expressly permitted herein.”
