It’s been five years since the Annual Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Display made its return, after being cancelled for two years
So, as the Medford Celebrates Foundation Trustees, along with their modest crew of volunteers, prepare for the 2017 Independence Day Fireworks Extravaganza on Saturday, July 1st, 2017 (rain date Monday, July 3rd) in Freedom Park, it is evident that the continued cooperation and extreme generosity of local residents and sponsors is necessary to the continuation of this event.
The Medford Celebrates Board is most pleased to announce that ShopRite of Medford is again returning as the Presenting Sponsor, having made a substantial donation to cover a large share of the costs of staging the event.
Columbia Bank of Medford is also returning as the Stage Sponsor, Polymer Solutions is returning as the Vendors Concourse sponsor, and YMCA Camp Ockanickon is back as the Kid’s Zone sponsor.
Other area businesses that are returning as sponsors include PJ Whelihan’s Restaurants, Medford Ford, Bob Meyer Communities, Archer & Greiner, P.C., Padden Cooper, LLC, Century 21 Meyer Realty, The Painting & Wallpaper Company, Medford Fitness, and the Y.A.L.E. School.
Each year, upwards of 25,000 regional residents attend Medford’s Independence Day Celebration, but according to Bob Egan, President of Medford Celebrates Foundation, Inc., “Hosting an event of this size for thousands of South Jersey residents and visitors costs money and takes a team of people and, frankly, cannot be shouldered by the Medford Celebrates Trustees alone. Admission is technically free, but if every family would contribute even a dollar for each family member who comes to watch, we can help assure that we can keep the fireworks going.” Egan asked all who attend the event to be on the lookout for donation tents and tables at Freedom Park, and for all others to visit the Foundation website www.medfordcelebrates.org to make a donation and for complete information on the schedule of activities, parking and more.
The Medford Celebrates Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation founded in 2011 to raise funds and public support for major Medford Township public events requiring Township services.
