UPDATE POSTED AS OF 9/14/20
Crews are completing brush collection today in Zone 3 and will begin collections in Zone 5. Crews will also be collecting in Zone 2 in the coming days.
The remaining schedule for the fall collection is as follows:
Zone 5: Week of September 7
Zone 4: Week of September 21
Zone 2: Week of October 5
Township crews will move into the next Zone as soon as the current Zone is complete. The Township is making every effort to get brush picked up as soon as possible, based on the resources we have available. Residents who cannot wait for a roadside collection based on the schedule above may bring their material to the DPW yard on Commonwealth Drive during regular business hours.
Please note that the volume of brush in any given Zone, adverse weather conditions, and mechanical breakdowns could cause additional delays. Residents with questions may call the Department of Neighborhood Services at 609-654-6791 or check the website at www.medfordtownship.com/brushandleaf
We apologize for the delay but appreciate your patience.
Brush should be placed at the street no later than the Monday of the first scheduled collection week. Each street will be collected once during the spring collection and once during the fall collection. Township Code states "All brush shall be stored on a resident's property and shall not be placed at the roadside earlier than 10 days preceding the Monday of the scheduled collection week. Brush generated by professional tree removers, trimmers or landscapers shall be removed by the contractor within 10 days from the date it is generated."
Residents who place brush at the street outside of designated collection times may be cited for violation of Township Code. Residents who can not wait several weeks for a collection have the option of bringing their brush to the DPW yard on Commonwealth Drive during regular business hours. The DPW yard is open Monday through Friday from 7 am to 2 pm. The yard will also be open Saturday, August 15th from 8 am - 1 pm. Residents must show proof of residency when entering the yard.
Tree contractors who are hired to clear storm debris from residents properties must remove the resultant debris at their cost. The Township will not remove any material placed at the street by contractors. In addition, Contractors are not permitted to dispose of any material at the DPW yard.
Updates on Brush collection will be posted to this News Feed and on the Township's official Facebook page. Questions about brush collection may also be directed to the Department of Neighborhood Services at 609-654-6791.
